I am a happy ESL teacher looking to expand my experience by teaching abroad. I love languages and linguistics, I am in the process of learning my fourth language, Portuguese. I often say that I was born bilingual. Raised by an Italian family in a francophone region, I don’t remember learning one or the other, I was just always able to use them both. At nineteen, I moved to the United States, in Boston, where I learned English, some Spanish, and theatre arts. After a semester at Univesite Libre de Bruxelles, in Italian and English Languages and Literature, I moved to Spokane, WA, to start college at Gonzaga University. Having started as an ESL student in 2009, I graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, and a TESOL Certificate. Throughout college, I enjoyed tutoring in French, Italian, and English as a Second Language. In the summer of 2012, I was a fifth grade teacher for refugee children at the Gonzaga University Language Institute. Best summer of my life.
I am currently an ESL instructor at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Boston. I study Applied Linguistics in their graduate program as well. I am a French language instructor at the BCAE, and I offer private services as a Public Speaking and Presentation Coach. Talk to me about language, public relations, social media planning, marketing, cross cultural phenomena, martial arts, the Internet, family, … 🙂
